During Vincent van Gogh’s (Dutch, 1853–1890) decade-long career, the mostly self-taught artist created some 900 paintings and over 1,100 works on paper. Our journal features Roses (1890), one of four spring bouquets the artist painted during his stay at the asylum at Saint-Rémy.
